it's weird to watch world history being made

because i had nothing to do at work today i spent a lot of time on twitter reading about brexit. it's fascinating and scary, and i realize i'm lucky to be able to look at it as merely fascinating, because it doesn't directly affect me. it was a lot of news to read, tho. the one good part was that donald trump was in scotland and tweeted how great it was that they "took their country back" - scotland voted overwhelmingly to stay in the eu - and the reaction insults are priceless. i think my favorite is that someone called him a spoon.

in the us, on the other hand, obama declared the stonewall inn a national hysteric historic monument (i thought he already had, but maybe it was just a historic monument in new york), making it the first such place to be made a national monument for its part in lgbtq history. pretty cool.

it was so gorgeous today i took a walk during lunch (i wanted to get a phone charger anyway, because my phone died and it never hurt to have a charger in one's desk) and it was very hard to go back to work. but i had news to read!

brexit, world politics, lgbtq history, donald trump
