work was soooo slow today, and then i came back from lunch and there was stuff to do! exciting.
What I just finished reading:
as simple as hunger, by d des anges, aka
apiphile, which i liked a lot. just don't ask me what it's about, because aside from "politics and love and friendship and giant scorpions", i'm not sure i could explain it. (i actually kinda liked the giant scorpion. there are giant spiders too, but i was less enthused.)
What I am reading now:
small gods, by pterry, because i finished as simple as hunger on thursday and i wanted to take something a little smaller to new york. (asah is, uh, not a little paperback.) it's a reread, but i read it for the first time so long ago i don't remember a lot of it, just that i really liked it. which i still do, so. the great god om waxed wroth, or at least made a spirited attempt. there is a limit to the amount of wroth that can be waxed one inch from the ground, but he was right up against it.
What I'm going to read next:
now that i'm rereading, i'm kind of feeling it for rereading garth nix's sabriel, altho i couldn't tell you why. but if not that, i don't know. something i already own, anyway.
in honor of national dog day, have a map of
dogs of all nations. well, as many recognizable breeds as there were in 1936.
herb graveyard - aka, tombstone-like signs for your herb garden. here grows beloved cilantro. heh. also, yum.
six writers and their writing spaces. if i had some of those writing rooms, i'd never get a damn thing done. but man, would i ever enjoy my procrastination.
