i love my friends, and i love that they have cool friends

today i went up to salem to hang out with jola (one of the few people i know on lj who i knew before lj) and ashbet (who i knew of but didn't really know), and much fun was had. (they were here for the weekend but obviously i couldn't go see them yesterday.) we swam in the hotel pool - i borrowed ashbet's bathingsuit which fit me which was impressive because she's taller and, er, larger in the chestal area than i am - and walked around and they bought t-shirts and i bought an intensely cute tiny velvet pirate hat (fascinator size) on a headband, and we hung out in the room and drank cider and ginger beer - which was very gingery - and ate chocolate and i had the latest lunch ever because i was STARVING and their friend gala who lives in arlington (ie, not that far from me) and whose lj name i don't remember (and i asked!) met us for dinner and did i mention that much fun was had? ashbet and gala are both lovely people, and i've known jola probably as long as i've lived in boston, if not longer, but i never get to see her because she lives in chicago. and the year wincon was in her city, she was sick and we couldn't see each other. so it was pretty fabulous getting to spend time with her.

and since we were talking about spn earlier, i apparently pimped jola into the show, which is only fitting after wrenlet did it to me.
