another day, another
googledoodle. i wonder how many days they're going to do these. the count would be fun, altho there's no way to make him count to forty.... "one! two! three! ...forty! forty years of sesame street!" heh.
also tomorrow is
the first annual carl sagan day, in honor of what would've been his 75th birthday. do something astronomical. :D
i'm kind of mixed about last night's spn - some things i liked, some things annoyed me, some things made me giggle. i was spoiled for the guest star. this has been a terrible year for accidental spoilers. the boys as usual made some priceless faces and are still ridiculously adorable, and i bet they had a LOT of fun with some of the random tv segments. (the tandem bike ride, sam doing the herpes commercial, sam as kitt with dean rooting around in his trunk. HEE. and i about fell off the couch laughing at their sendup of a. csi, and b. david caruso. also i love that sam really does know how to extricate a bullet and sew up a wound, but not in any medical-drama-approved fashion. dental floss and a penknife is all winchesters need, thank you.)
i didn't hate the episode, i didn't love it, i think i just don't care any more. i can appreciate how they retconned the trickster into always having been gabriel - it was admittedly kind of tidy - and thus made the entire heaven/hell war a glorified family spat, but at the same time i'm tired of every. single. thing. having to be an integral part of the mytharc. if i actually liked the mytharc i might not mind so much.
on the plus side, apparently "misha collins was contracted for seventeen episodes" (or however many) does not mean "castiel will be a significant character in seventeen episodes". i prefer tiny bits of him. er. not literally, because ew. he shows up, he gets a couple lines, he goes poof. i'm ok with that.
and i like that the boys are working together, like actually on the same page for once, and not at each other's throats or working at cross-purposes or each going off to do their own thing or whatever. it's a welcome switch from last season. but at the same time... i don't care what happens any more. i kind of want them to just get it over with and go back to saving people and hunting things. i know it's not going to happen, and intellectually i can accept that as a result of character growth and plot advancement and keeping things new and interesting for five seasons and all that good stuff, but i still kinda miss it.
who posted the really cute pics of matt bomer and his boyfriend earlier this week? or did someone just link to them?
i managed to get a week's worth of stuff in my weekender suitcase. i'm as confused as anyone. it's kind of heavy, too.
don't break the internet while i'm gone. :D
