Montana Crazy

So yeah, life has been crazy out here in the wilds of Montana. Where to begin???.......

1) I have a new job! I work for the State of Montana / National Guard as a Drill Instructor for troubled kids. Imagine...me...a Drill Instructor. Never saw that coming in a hundred years :) It's kinda difficult for me to really explain about our program so if you are interested, look up Youth Challenge on the Internet. If you find one for Montana, that's us.

Anyway, like I said, a state job. Hence, state benifits! YAY!!!!! And the pay ain't too shabby either. For out here anyway. I make $9.68/hr, full time. Low for WA, but remember, out here our minimum wage is $5.15/hr. Add in the full benifits and retirement and I am a-okay with that. Right now, I am on Grave shift. But that will change in about a week when this cycle of kids graduates. The program is 5 months long and I just started on the 23 of May. Then we will have about 6 weeks with no kids. On July 24, we go to Helena, MT for 2 weeks to get the next class, get them in-processed, and determine who will be accepted to the full program and who will be sent on home. Not many we don't accept, but there are some.

2) We are moving again. This time just in town. Our landlord decided to sell the house out from under us, so we have been scrambling trying to find a new place to live. You would figure there'd be a ton of places for rent here since this is a college town...but nope. We finally found a 3 bed/3 bath/3car garage house. It's literally directly across the street from my work, so that will be nice. Just walk across the campus (Youth Challenge is run on the University of Montana-Western campus) to work every day. Nice on the van gas tank!

We will be paying more than we are used to out here, but much less than we were in Olympia. And this house is gorgeous! Kitchen = 5 butts easy! We will be moving into the house in July/August....crazy story there, but not enough time to explain it all right now. Have to get ready for work here soon.

3) Kenneth and I signed up for a membership at the YMCA. Went to the gym yesterday for an actual workout with a Trainer. Damn, I'm kinda sore today. I forgot I had some of those muscles :) We were going to go swim today, but Kenneth has a migraine, so we just weren't gonna go down that road. Tomorrow is another workout day. Then we will alternate wo days with swim days. OMG! I'm EXERCISING!!! UGH

Well, gotta go for now. Have to go get into my uniform and combat boots. Strangely enough, it's nice to be back in uniform again. I really missed my combat boots. My feet love them!

Hope everyone is doing well out there.

Loves,

Britt
