Well... yesterday morning I went to the radio station for my office hours after my morning class and Colin told me that my sister Lisa had called and I was supposed to call her back right away. Turns out my dad had a heart attack. I got Colin to drive me the three hours to Bloomington, pretty much freaking out the whole way. By the time I got there they had stopped the heart attack and put a stent in.

He looked absolutely horrible, not like my dad at all, it was really scary. But he's doing really well now, thank God!! When they took out the tube they used for the angioplasty, there was another shaky moment where he turned white as a sheet and his pulse went down to like 45, but they got it back up. He only had one artery that was blocked, but it was 100% blockage... that's really rare to have that much. This is a perfect warning to all you smokers out there!! The doctors said there was like a 96% chance that he wouldn't have had a heart attack if he didn't smoke.

Like I said though, he's doing really good now. He's eating and walking to the bathroom and such. He has to stay in the hospital for a couple more days, and then out of work for a few weeks. I should be heading back to Quincy tonight so I don't miss any more classes or work. It's nice that the hospital has a computer in the ICU waiting room though!! He's pretty much out of the woods, but there's always a chance for another heart attack to hit, so if everybody could be thinking about him, I would really appreciate it!!
