File 47 - End of Winter Term [Voice Post]
Twenty cases in the span of three days? When do you detectives eat or sleep? It's a wonder any of you have time for school work. Unfortunately, none of those cases I solved will count toward my goal... [sighs] Back to square one, I suppose.
It's good to be back in Inaba again. There's a short vacation between terms, so school is out for the next few weeks. Senpai is going to leave Inaba on the twenty-first. Just two more days...
[There is a brief pause.] I can't believe the date managed to creep up on me like this. It seemed so far away before, and now it's suddenly right around the corner. There was so much more that I wanted to do before Senpai left...
[A bit harsh.] No, I can't think like this. I don't want any tearful farewells. It's pointless. [Her voice softens and grows more shaky as she speaks.] It's not as though he's leaving the country. We'll see each other again. Travel is a lot more convenient than in the past, especially if you can world-hop. We can still keep in touch by phone and computer. Just because he won't be living down the street doesn't mean that he's gone...
[Naoto stops, takes a deep breath.]
We'll be fine. He's made us much stronger than we were before. Now, it's our turn to support him. And when the time comes for him to return to Inaba, we'll all be waiting for him right here. After all, this place has become home to us all.
