New Years Wrap-Up
Just because I like to keep this updated...
Many thanks to katjabee and kingwamba for their continued hosting of the NTMD party. It makes for a great way to start New Years Eve annually. Many thanks to kabichandani and cabachandini for their annual huge party as well. The last 3 years have started there for me, and I don't regret one moment. That even includes this year when I rung in the new year kissing the woman who, later on, got drunk enough to have an ambulance called for her. I hope to see more of you two this year than I did last year.
Many thanks to cliff for his New Years Day meatless, alcoholless, complainless New Years Day Hangover Recover Party, where I get to provide a vat of collard greens and other goodies are given out as well. That will hopefully also continue to be an annual tradition for me.
Friday night I went out with ssellers for karaoke. There were supposed to be other friends join us, but it ended up being just us. On the plus side, there were few people there. So we both sang literally 10 or 11 songs a piece, plus a couple of duets. It was great!
And then yesterday was a good, productive day. I got to give blood. I got to help my brother and grandfather wire my brother's new shanty on the south side of town. I got to have a most excellent dinner with thepostmistress and try to convince her dog, Stump, that there are good people on this planet. He was an abused puppy. He did trust me enough, eventually, to let me feed him from my hand. But he was still skittish letting me pet him. Still, thepostmistress says that's a huge step for her dog. So good times.
Then, as I was heading out for karaoke again, I realized that the blood loss had done me in and I went home and to bed by 10:30.
So that's what's been up the past few days. I just sent out a mass update and remembered that I should keep up with this stuff to let me remember what I've been doing.
