Weekend Update (for last weekend)

Yes, I've been scarce lately. My first weekend with Y passed and managed to get through a whole week without posting about it. Sure, I called, IMed, tweeted, and SMSed folks to let them know how I was doing. I have noticed, though, that these posts also serve as a way for me to remember. Instead of waiting for quiet and solitude, I'm taking advantage of the quiet cuddle time in bed with Y -- he needs a bit more sleep than I -- to make this entry from my iPhone. Who says being geeky has to require missing out on those special moments? ;-)

I'd packed a few things I knew I'd need as I prepared for work on Friday morning. It was a fairly uneventful day at work but I found I spent a lot of time thinking about Y and looking forward to spending the weekend with him.

On the drive up that evening, I ran into the usual traffic. I took advantage of the time by making a few phone calls an chatting with friends online. There were still a few open items for Thanksgiving planning, and I took care of those too.

I found myself becoming frustrated with traffic. I didn't want to have the start of my weekend delayed by traffic stupidity. But I eventually made my way to former sniper territory and into Y's arms. Bliss was restored. We had a late dinner and then frolicked the rest of the evening.

This was the first time that Y and I would be sleeping together and I worried some about this. Especially when I'm sleeping with someone else who likes to cuddle, it can spell doom for my being able to sleep properly. But we actually managed pretty well. Another good sign.

Our one diversion for the weekend came when we headed to SF to be with bellaballanda for her to get her latest piercing. We got to see P there, too. We drove her home afterward, since she was very unstable on her feet. We also needed to stop by Mr S Leather on the way back to retrieve an item she'd lost there. I don't think Y had been in there before but within 2 minutes being there, he already spotted something naughty he seemed interested in. *sigh* :-)

We dined in Sunnyvale at a place Y remembered from when this was his usual stomping ground. We decided to go see the latest Bond movie, and wound up seeing a very late showing because we had some other needs to attend to first. It was pretty good, but it was another example of how Hollywood botches literary adaptations.

Sunday was spent largely indoors. The whole weekend was very enjoyable and appropriately hedonistic. We already laid our plans for the thanksgiving weekend and I can't wait!
