So guess what I found out today.
Remember that fellowship I applied for last year with Hearst Newspapers. They only took 12 finalists last year...and me, I was lucky No. 13! That's right, I missed the opportunity of a lifetime (or at least the chance to interview for it) by one spot!!! In a way it makes me feel better, and in a way it doesn't. Ya know? So, I asked Devin if he would be upset if I re-applied for the Summer '07 class. Let's just say he was less than thrilled; he doesn't want to have to keep moving. Maybe I'll just leave him home ;)
Anyway, enought with that. First week of school went well. Looks like I'll be quite busy again this semester. Here's a rundown of classes: News Production for the Internet, Science and Health Communication, and News Media and Governance. All of my classes seem really interesting this semester, and I think I may be able to get some good writing samples and/or conference papers out of them. ***crosses fingers***.
And I think I may have found a new avenue for my career: book publishing! The dean's been giving me chapters of his book to proof and I'm really enjoying it. And for the last two weeks I've been formatting a book for one of our professors and I enjoy doing that too. I'll have to look into this more :)
Enough from me for one night. Lata!
