12. Note:
-There had been a little confusion about the way they address Jaejoong in this fic, if you don't remember, then read the
Character profiles , I can remember I mentioned the reason there. Hopes it clears up the confusion :).
- The text the italic parts are the Junsu's (and sometimes Yoochun's) thoughts.
-I still not figured out how many chapters this fic will be, but for now, I've plenty of ideas. That means there will still be a lot of chapters in the future XD (until I just get so annoyed and fed up with this story that I just toss it away *bricked*
Chapter 13a - Do I really love you?
Junsu was trying his hardest to concentrate on the mountain of homework the teachers had given him to complete for the next day. He thought that his start in middle school would be exciting, but it wasn’t true, since studying or completing the mountain of homework made it impossible.
“Junsu is stupid, Junsu is stupid!” Yun Jin sang as she ran around the kitchen table. She had been doing that for the past 10 minutes and it didn’t look like she was going to stop soon.
“Yun Jin… I’m trying to study...” He tried to say it as calmly as he could, but the little girl wouldn’t stop.
“Stupid, stupid, Junsu is stupid!” She continued her song.
Junsu’s annoyance level had reached its peak; swiftly he got hold his sister’s wrist and brought their faces closer. “Shut up Yun Jin! I’m trying to study and it’s not working when you keep going on like that! So be quiet and don’t you dare open your mouth again!”
The little girl stared at her brother; big eyes filled with fear. Slowly, she shuffled off and hid herself in the corner of the room.
Sighing, Junsu turned around to his homework again. Some stupid assignment on cubic functions. Finally he got the silence he was asking for, but it was awkwardly quiet. Slowly, he turned around to where Yun Jin was sitting in the corner of the room. Something didn’t feel right; she was just sitting there with her lips sealed.
Why was her head becoming all purplish?
Her eyes were still wide open, but she didn’t move. Her whole body had stopped moving. That was when Junsu finally realized what was going on. “Yun Jin!” He quickly got off his chair and got on his knees next to his little sister. “Yun Jin? What are you doing?” He nudged her softly but still no response. She did look him in the eye and blink once in a while.
But shouldn’t her chest be moving?
…
“Yun Jin, say something!” Junsu panicked. “Why won’t you say anything?! Yun Jin!!”
The girl’s cheeks were becoming red, her eyes watery and her body was shaking in spastic movements. Junsu was terrified and didn’t know what to do, he tried to find out what was going on, but he just couldn’t seem to find it.
Hopelessly, he wailed for his mother. “UMMA! U-UMMA!”
Yun Jin’s body was jerking up dangerously. Junsu was in despair, what was going on?! A moment ago she was still normal; she was playing around, singing! Why was she like this?
An hour later.
His whole body was shaking as he hugged his legs. The clean white atmosphere around him was terrifying. Junsu never liked hospitals.
He still didn’t know what was going on with Yun Jin, but he could clearly remember the spastic movements her body made a while back. It was the scariest thing he’d ever seen.
Luckily his mother had heard him calling, initially all annoyed, but as soon as she saw Junsu in tears with his little sister lying on the ground next to him, she knew what was happening. And the first thing she did was something that shocked Junsu even more.
She hit him in the face and pushed him away from the little girl.
Junsu bit his bottom lip and tried to suppress the urge to cry. Why did she do that? And what was going on now? Was Yun Jin alright?
Minutes passed and the door finally swung open. Junsu lifted his head to see both his parents thanking the doctor. But Yun Jin wasn’t with them. “Junsu.” The boy flinched when he heard his mother’s threatening tone of voice. “Come.”
“Y-yes Umma…” They walked the endless halls of the hospital until they were outside; his mother turned around and flung her hand at him again. The stinging pain in his cheek made him cry.
“What the hell do you think you were doing?!” His mother yelled, without taking any notice of possible passersby’s. “Do you want to kill her?! Is that what you want!?”
“I-I… w-what?!”
“Don’t act like you don’t know. You tried to kill our daughter!”
Junsu’s eyes grew bigger. Kill Yun Jin? Why would he ever want to do that? He had to admit he thought she could be annoying at times, but to think of killing her? He’d never think that way! “W-why would I want t-to ki-”
“Don’t you dare say another word!” Mrs. Kim yelled. “It’s your damn fault Yun Jin stopped breathing!”
That was when everything became clear. The things he’d said to Yun Jin…
“Shut up Yun Jin! I’m trying to study and it’s not working when you keep going on like that! So be quiet and don’t you dare open your mouth again!”
It really shocked him that he had said such a thing. He knew very well about his sister’s mental illness.
Autistics don’t know about metaphorical speech, nor do they know if something was meant literally or not. If someone said in a playful manner, “Get out.” They would just walk out like they’ve been ordered to.
Since Junsu had said such things on a threatening tone, he’d made her stop breathing.
It was something that Junsu could never forgive himself for.

“Jaejoong?”
“Hmm?”
“I have something to confess.”
Curious, Jaejoong turned his head to Changmin. “Something to confess?”
Changmin nodded as he played with Jaejoong’s fingers. The comfortable closeness of their bodies, Jaejoong’s head that was leaning on his shoulders, it felt so warm… so close. He didn’t know why he was thinking of telling Jaejoong about his relationship with Yunho years ago. He didn’t know if it was the right time to tell, but now he and Jaejoong were alone, a very uncommon thing, so he felt like he had to.
“Changmin-ah... are you okay?”
“Yeah... yeah, I’m fine.” Changmin told. “It’s just that, what I want to tell you isn’t that easy...”
“I’m not forcing you. If you don’t want to, then don’t.” Jaejoong assured the younger man. He laced his fingers with Changmin’s and stared into the man’s eyes, weird emotions overwhelming him as he locked his gaze.
Changmin felt it too, he knew what he was thinking and he knew what he wanted, but could he do it? No, that would be inappropriate; it would be taking advantage of the situation! Getting Jaejoong on his moment of weakness, it was wrong. “I want to tell you… but I think I can’t.”
“It’s okay...”
“No, it’s not.”
The beating of his heart echoed through his whole body, driving him crazy with that uncommon feeling he had for the man next to him. A sort of magnet was pulling him closer with an amazing strength. He was fighting it, with all his might, but the fact that Changmin looked so handsome… could he resist it?
I want to know what Changmin thinks of me.
Changmin took a deep breath. He’d made up his mind; he was ready to tell Jaejoong about his past relationship. “Jaejoong... I’ve be-“ But surprisingly, he was cut off by a pair of soft lips. It was like magic, the way Jaejoong brushed his lips against his. It petrified him. As soon as Jaejoong’s hands started to move along on his back, he opened his mouth and the two of them fell down onto the bed in a fiery embrace.
---
Grey plumes of smoke flew in mid air as they exited his mouth. He’d never thought smoking would ever get to him again, nor did the thought of starting anew. Why did he start over in the first place again?
“Hmf... Jaejoong.” Was the answer of his question. It was quite clear that it was because of Jaejoong. Without him around, he was kind of empty and bored to death, that’s why.
He quenched the cigarette and threw it out of the window. As if he had any interest in nature. The piled up dossiers and unfinished files made him nauseated. Why the hell should he even start on those while he couldn’t concentrate at all? It was school break after all and needless to say, the weekend. Should he go somewhere and relax a little?
Not less than 5 minutes later, he was walking downtown, dressed up in a leather coat and tight jeans. His whole appearance made him feel young again, and it did attract certain public. Numerous girls and guys came on to him, but he showed none of them the slightest interest.
He found himself a spot in a unfamiliar bar and got himself a few shots of liquor, the only attraction he found in that bar were a couple of drunk business men who were playing a stupid card game and a young, fresh couple making out in the far corner.
Yunho huffed in annoyance and asked the barkeeper for another beer, just to drink his boredom away.
“Sir, are you sure about tha-“
“Yeah yeah... just give me that goddamn beer already.” Yunho hissed as he threw a couple of coins his way. As the cold alcohol slid down his throat, he sighed slightly and suddenly realized something.
“What the hell am I doing here…?”
A headache crept up as the alcohol started to work its job. But this time, it felt like a heavier burden.
“What the hell did I do?”
A part of him hated himself for all the things he did; from going out with twins, to mistreating the school nurse. It all didn’t make any sense. But why did he think of it only now? He slammed his head on the counter and tried to erase his anger. Maybe some things were just meant to fail.
“S-sir… we’re about to close…” The careful voice of the bartender spoke.
“Ah… oh yeah...” Wobbling, Yunho lifted himself from the stool, taking an empty glass with him, and left the mushy café. His feet dragged him forward over the lightened pavement. He wasn’t aware of the people around him and he bumped into several people.
Without being sure where he was going exactly, he just made his way through the lights. His blurry vision wasn’t getting any better; the lights only made it worse. “Damn…“ He murmured silently. Suddenly, he bumped into another passerby, but the man wouldn’t move aside. “Yah. Move aside you son of a…” His eyes grew wider when his blurry eyes allowed him to see the man’s face more clearly. Someone whom he’d never thought of seeing again.
“Well well well. If it isn’t Jung Yunho-shii.”
