I'm still struggling with this $%^&&** Lyme disease.  I finally tested positive (yay - I guess) so I've been on Doxycycline for the last month, but I can tell it's not quite enough.  The crushing fatigue is a little better, but I still have migraines and random joint pains.  I have an appointment with an Infectious Disease Specialist in a week or ( Read more... )

The household is still kind of reeling from the sudden loss of my Tiger cat.  The younger ones don't know what to do without their 'Uncle Tiger' who raised both of them and I'm still missing him terribly.  Maybe it's just as well this sudden extreme cold snap came along to keep me busy taking care of the horses.  It was 9F (-13C) last night with 25 ( Read more... )

This picture surfaced on my Facebook feed the other day. I don't know where it's from - maybe from the next year's prize list, or a contemporary magazine. I had never seen it before. It's Upperville Horse Show in the mid 1970's.

I woke up early this am to the sound of NOT rain. Finally. After 5-6 straight days of it I had had enough. We’re up so high, no flood problems here and I have very little mud (considering) but enough was enough.
