Tonight I went looking for a new sleep quote to put on my away message... and i came across this moving poem by Heinrich Heine. Robert Schumann set this poem as part of his song cycle Dichterliebe The poem itself is number 55 of the Lyrisches Intermezzo from his Buch der Lieder

After so long a time of not writing poetry...  this hit me.

Driving home from work in Simi Valley...  just coming through Moorpark...  I knew that if I didn't pull over, I'd lose it...  and it turns out to have been a good thing.  I don't think I would have wanted to let this go.

The release of writing again...  It was worth the delay in my commute.
