I <3 recovery week

I've only been officially 1/2 IM training for 2 weeks, and the second week is a recovery week!  I love it!  Thursday I couldn't attend TZPPT so I did my run in the morning.  3-4 intervals of 1K at 5K pace and .5 mile at recovery pace.  I was going to do 4, but a neighbor asked me what I was training for at the end of the 3rd recovery and by the time we'd talked and exchanged phone numbers I was cooled down and almost home.  So only 3 intervals.  But hey, it's recovery week!

This morning I went to masters swim.  Another challenging workout.  I think I swam 1850 when I added up all the various exercises we did.  Today was about trying different strokes.  I didn't really want to but Coach Lisa talked me into it by saying it makes you a stronger freestyle swimmer.  I learned I'm a natural at a made up stroke - breast stroke arms and dolphin kick.  And I learned how to properly breast stroke kick since my left leg was doing it wrong.  It definitely worked those weak hip flexor muscles I keep complaining about.
