I went to high school in a town that always smelled like Cocoa Puffs from the GM factory, near a block-long fence that warned against entering the thorium plant, Kerr-McGee. I'm back.  I'm refreshed overwhelmed.  I'm now the proud owner of a tighter gluteus maximus thanks to Mary Loftus.
Seriously, though, Prairie Writer's Day, particularly Cheryl Klein, Martha Mihalick, Caroline Meckler, Jennifer Rofe, and Carol Grannick provided a healthy guideline for "stellar" writing and better living.
