I've had a great week of training with the Trowbridge based Hot Chilli triathlon club. I did 2 sessions with them back in January and when I got this trip booked, joined online.

Its been well worth it for this week alone. Friday early was a pool based swim with Coach Richard Smith, Richard bought along an Aquasphere wetsuit for me to borrow. ( Read more... )

 Yep, life has got busy, busy.

The new job, which has required a lot of reading and investigation, but is going well. I''ve been learning about things like IPMI and re-visiting emerging standards like WS-MAN. Last Sunday after the triathlon I had an interesting discussion about why I'd quit the UK, it's hard to put your finger on it really, it's been a long standing thing for me, going back to my youth. Wednesday evening I went to the annual meeting of my old triathlon club, Tri-Force. I had meant to find time to catch-up with Trace but it wasn't to be. Not just yet, but sooner than expected.  When I booked my trip I was advised by the Embassy that the turn-around for new Visas was a minimum of six days. So I was surprised when my Mum txt'd me today to say my passport had just been delivered by courier. Thats a day for the visa, and a day for delivery. Very impressive ( Read more... )

You know how it is, you get home from work after a fractious day in the office, you are committed to go do dinner with your partners friend, somebody from your past, a relative, or to a party where you just know you won't enjoy it.
