carefully worded request
I'm feeling a bit stressed on a number of levels and so have asked for time off. My formal request reads as follows:
"I'd like to take August 5-8 off. Are there any objections that cannot be overcome by my pitching a hissy?"
Seriously, how can they turn me down? It is obviously in everyone's best interest to grant my request.

In other news --
-- My laptop is in its death throes. It's getting harder and harder to coax it to keep running. I'm even considering a cheap Hell Dell computer as a replacement. I'll have to do something, because once the poor thing goes, I'll be computer-less at home. *whimper*
-- I am impressed by the folks who are on speaking terms with their muses. Mine is silent. She will occasionally consent to helping me edit a few ficlets, but will not cooperate with the longer stories. I'm hoping a week off work to sort out my issues will make for a more pleasant environment, thus fostering her return. le sigh
And now back to work, to earn my kibble.
