Th medbay was the first place she had headed off too, although she was hating it already. She had been here several hours ago after being attacked by big and ugly the first time, and needed a pick me up the second. This time she was a little better, but she still had a few ugly wounds and her head was thumping like mad. Not that any of this

For the longest time, Sasami slept. Her attack had drained her considerably and she could feel the "burn" of it all. Though, in truth, it probably wasn't that. It was seeing all those people hurt. Everything that happened hurt her inside and watching one of her sisters, her family, get hurt, well...

For the moment, Sasami still slept, as peaceful as it could get.

Hit girl stared at the girl a moment, and, with no one watching, allowed herself to be human, not unfeeling or cold about her concern

As Hit Girl spoke, Sasami's eyes twitched a bit, slowly opening as she tried to come to. Everything just seemed like a horrible blur to her. Her eyes slowly darted around, trying to see where she was and who was there... before spotting Hit Girl.

"...Mindy...?" she whispered, a little confused.

Oh thank god. If she was any more maudlin over this she was going to punch herself in the face. It was bad enough when Ruffnut saw her worried about her. That was just embarrassing. But at least now she could talk properly.

"Yeah, its me," Mindy replied. "How are you holding up?"

[zouichi]

Zouichi was already in the Medical Bay, so when he spotted a young blonde girl he didn't recognize, he made his way over to her to say hello.

"Did you come here to watch over Sasa--" he stopped, glancing down to see an extremely familiar wig on the table before looking back at Mindy's face. "...Hit Girl?"

"Yeah," she said, and though she really should have been wearing the wig, right now she really didn't care. All of her was achy, and she was still going to have to get patched up. She'd wait until Sasami was up and taken care of though.

"It's me. And yes, I'm gonna watch over Sasami until I know for sure that she's better. She's been through a lot."

[zouichi]

He nodded. "Looks like Sasami has a lot of friends on this ship. But... try not to overdo it? I'm sure she wouldn't be happy to know you worsened your own condition because you were worried about her."

"So did KAIN happen to you, too? You look like you were hit by a truck." Okay, a bit of an exaggeration, but Mindy looked like she was in need of first aid more than he was.

She laughed. "I was the one who tipped her off in the first place he was coming. That bastard found me first, I wasn't looking for a fight. He was though, got me real good. The FIRST time, anyway."

She did look pretty bad though. "Yeah well, I got some healing to do. After the first fight I wanted a rematch. Third time I just wanted to get Sasami the hell out of there."

"Good work." The Overlord grinned as his minion hauled him forward. Not that he had the slightest idea what had went down, but Hit Girl was less hurt than last time, so clearly it had been good work.

She had to laugh. "Hey, last time he took me on solo, and I just thought he was a drug addict. Bastard totally got the drop on me. Besides, had help. Ruffnut was there, and, like, a lot of her friends. Even the freaking Captain came down and started firing with a badass gun. I actually got some respect for him that time."

Zetta rolled his eyes. "Being able to shoot a gun doesn't qualify you to sit on your ass and do freaking nothing. Still good work on your part however you want to justify it."

[hit_girl_mindy]

"Hey, he made sure he was gotten rid of, I'll give him that much credit. Can you imagine what would have happened if he announced it? Everyone would have been pissing themselves or running over to play hero. This way at least he involved fewer people and still got him out. I think I even saw that vampire girl attacking...DAMN, she's good."

Allenby was feeling distinctly bruised after the encounter with KAIN, but she wasn't resentful of it. From what she heard he'd been quite thoroughly stopped, so even if she hadn't been the one to do it, she was feeling pretty damn pleased.

In the meantime she was spending a day in the Medbay. Frustrating, but nothing she was unfamiliar with. At least nothing'd been broken, which was mildly unbelievable even to her. She was stretching her legs when she spotted a familiar face and some disembodied purple hair, next to an unconscious girl. "...Hey there," Allenby said, stopping several feet away and lifting her hand in greeting. She realized now she'd never got that kid's name during all that fighting.

"Yo," was the reply that Allenby got, Mindy not bothering to go and scramble for the hair: she was much too tired, and her bones were still achy from all of that fighting and healing. She really did hope she didn't have a bruised rib, that would have made training impossible.

"You were the girl that was getting tossed around by that masked asshole," Hit Girl remarked. "You were pretty good out there. Thanks for trying to help Sasami here."

"Yeah, that's right." Allenby grinned. "You weren't so bad yourself."

So this was Sasami, huh? Man, the poor kid looked pretty well out of it--anger bubbled at the thought of something like KAIN trying to tear the ship apart to kill a goddamn little girl. Allenby shook her head. "I dunno what his problem could've even been, but I'm glad he ain't around anymore."

She rubbed her shoulder. Her whole back was kinda purple from the collision with the wall. "I don't think I caught your name, by the way. I'm Allenby."

[hit_girl_mindy]

"I shouldn't have been, that was the second time I fought him," Hit Girl confessed. "The first time he came pretty close to killing me. That guy was definitely not playing around."

She looked over at Sasami, exhaling. "Yeah, I hear you. I couldn't stay in med bay knowing he was still gunning for her. She's a pretty good kid when you sit down and start to talk to her, you know? Glad they got him out."

She observed the back, wincing. "Huh. Looks like he got you pretty good. I'll go see if I can go and get some salve on your back. I'm Mindy, but with what I'm wearing now, I go by Hit Girl."

[things_go_boom]

"Looks like I missed out on a party." Why was Lash here, it most certainly wasn't because Hit Girl was there or she heard about a fight a little too late, busy working on her things in the hanger, that would be stupid.

"You look like shit." She said it in such a way it didn't sound insulting at all. "Guess you gave him a good run for his money."

[hit_girl_mindy]

Hit Girl snickered. "I don't think I'd be calling what the hell that situation was as a party. There was too much strangling and creepiness factor for that. I thought the guy was on drugs or something."

She sniffed. "I went after him three times! I BETTER look like shit!" She grinned. "Damn right I did. Bastard almost killed me the first time. He deserved to get messed up pretty bad."

[things_go_boom]

"DAMN and I missed everything!" Could you hear the sadness in her voice? The deep sadness in her voice. "Remind me not to start working on my giant robots with music on." But she grinned back. "At least it's nice to know you guys gave him a good beating. I guess..."

[hit_girl_mindy]

Hit Girl grinned. "Yeah, you're totally going to have to join us in the beat down the next time, or coming to find you and drag you in myself! I saw you that last time in the Outsider meeting as a power ranger: that was pretty bad ass."

Yes, she still liked power rangers. The best part about them being on the ship? No corny dialogue to suffer through!

"One he'll never forget in the vacuum of space," she said.
