Th medbay was the first place she had headed off too, although she was hating it already. She had been here several hours ago after being attacked by big and ugly the first time, and needed a pick me up the second. For the longest time, Sasami slept. Her attack had drained her considerably and she could feel the "burn" of it all. Though, in truth, it probably wasn't that. It was seeing all those people hurt. Everything that happened hurt her inside and watching one of her sisters, her family, get hurt, well...

For the moment, Sasami still slept, as peaceful as it could get.

As Hit Girl spoke, Sasami's eyes twitched a bit, slowly opening as she tried to come to. Everything just seemed like a horrible blur to her. Her eyes slowly darted around, trying to see where she was and who was there... before spotting Hit Girl.

"...Mindy...?" she whispered, a little confused.

Oh thank god. If she was any more maudlin over this she was going to punch herself in the face. It was bad enough when Ruffnut saw her worried about her. That was just embarrassing. But at least now she could talk properly.

"Yeah, its me," Mindy replied. "How are you holding up?"

"Sore..." Sasami admitted, closing her eyes a bit. "...and my head hurts."

A few moments would pass before she'd speak again "Is he...?"

"Yeah, I know the feeling," Mindy said, grinning. "Pretty sure I better get my ribs checked out, and I still got a few bones busted I'm not sure about. That's what happens when you get a healing quickie though."

That sounded pornographic. Ah well.

She wrinkles her nose. "Mask of the Dicktasm? Yeah, he's gone. I guess the captain of the ship actually does know what he's doing. Hell of a shot too, I'm impressed."

She didn't want to cry, not in front of Mindy.

"...And you would have gotten killed, stupid," Mindy said flat out. "Or didn't you know Kain showed me exactly how easily he could kill one person one on one? You didn't know, and for all those people who care about you, you did exactly what they needed you to do: run and get their help."

She shook her head. "If you need to cry, don't stop on my account. It was a pretty ugly situation."

Slowly, Sasami sat up, still trying to fight the urge to cry. However, when Mindy told her it was okay, she couldn't help but look at the girl and cling on to her, bursting into tears.

"I'm so sorry...!" she bawled, shaking in fear as she let everything go.

She was usually horrible at this and she knew it: emotions weren't big with her, and she cringed at the sight of crybabies. But she could hold Sasami while she cried: that bastard had been serious, he WANTED to kill her, and he hurt a hell of a lot of friends to try and get to her. Who wouldn't feel like the biggest piece of shit after that?

"It's all right," she said, letting Mindy through. "It sucks we got hurt, but we're here to protect each other. Just promise the people he hurt you'll have their back in a fight. It's natural, to feel like you caused this, but he was a psycho. Who can reason with those types?"

"I will... I... I will..." Sasami whimpered, trying her best to calm down and stay strong towards Mindy. Yes, it was a scary experience, but at the same time, she felt like she had to be strong, especially with what happened.

She grinned. "Never gave you away either. It took me awhile after he banged me around the first time to get what the power of Jurai was. I thought he was just some coked out fiend, we get a lot of those where I'm from. When I figured he was talking about you, I kinda told him to go have sex with himself in the not nice way."

She snickered. "I paid for that, but it was great seeing the bastard frustrated!"

She didn't give her away. Sasami couldn't help but smile warmly at her friend as she heard that. It probably meant that those who also encountered him either didn't know of the power or, if they figured it out, didn't tell him either.

She shrugged. "Well, I had to play dead at that point, he was definitely out to kill me. What a douche too: he didn't even make sure he finished the job. But yeah, I got to med bay, the Overlord yelled at me, I got infused with the freezing darkness crap: and look at me now!"

She gave a sarcastic pose, then sat back down. "He cheated anyway, the jerk. Using all that mystical crap. Really, who does that?"

Sasami let out a soft chuckle as she laid back down. "It wasn't fair, that's for sure..."

Releasing a small sigh, she closed her eyes once more as she started to lay back down. "Um... are you going to stay a bit longer?"

She shook her head. "Well, losers like him have to get the drop on you first. I think he wanted to make an example of me or something."

She paused. "Did you want me to leave, so you can rest or something?"
