Every Good Boy Deserves...

I like mnemonics.

For a quiz in Social Ethics today I had to be able to list the ten elements of Catholic Social Teaching and explain them. When I got to school today, I wouldn't have been able to remember more than five. I knew this. So I sat down and made myself a little mnemonic phrase. Ready?

"Have Care, Romeo, Only Paul Dares Send Slaves 'Round Pennsylvania."

HCROPDSSRP

It wouldn't have worked for anybody else, but it did its job--I took my quiz two hours or so later and got a 20/20.

Those curious about what the actual elements are:

Human Dignity, Community and the Common Good, Rights and Responsibilities, Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, Participation, Dignity of Work/Rights of Workers, Stewardship of Creation, Solidarity, Role of Government, Promotion of Peace.

...There are slightly different lists around (especially on the internet), and my teacher took points off if you gave him an element phrased differently. Meh. Didn't matter; I memorized them and that's that.

For the record, most of the preceding stuff would be behind a cut, but the button is refusing to work for some reason, so oh well. You all get to see it all! Bwahaha!

...Right.

In Acting & Directing we are moving from solo pieces to group pieces, but on the way we're working on developing an ensemble. There's little better for developing an ensemble than doing improv-related excercises, so I foresee much fun in the next few weeks.

...I think that's actually it from me tonight. I have a headache. I think I may go to bed a bit early... hmm.
