At my brother's long-distance insistence, I got and started playing Portal today. I've stopped for now because I'm tired enough to be stuck in a room; at least, I'm operating under the assumption that with sleep I'll be able to figure it out. It would be rather embarrassing otherwise.
In other news, at school, first quarter ended today. I did fairly well, I think, but not as well as I could have, grade-wise. So let's think... combining those grades I know with those grades I can guess (which ends up including all my classes, yay), I have a... 3.9ish GPA for the quarter. If I get really really lucky, 3.958. (...Whoa, one grade makes a big difference...) My cumulative is I think 3.938, so the former wouldn't bring it up, but the latter would... Ah well. I'm just not used to being this worried about first-quarter grades. Applying early decision to a college will do that, I guess.
I did some good work on my monologue today. And apparently it's going to take some real practice, because I have to make one big conscious change: when thinking in the middle of talking, apparently I look down. My character, the interviewer, Greg, needs to look up and out. I'm not quite sure yet how difficult this is going to be... I also helped Richard a bunch with his monologue, but either I'm underestimating how much or he's overestimating, 'cause he seemed disproportionally grateful. Of course, that's a silly term... disproportionally grateful... I dunno. He helped me figure a bunch of stuff out with mine, so I was only returning the favor.
Anyway.
Today: I, uh... I took the test. There was no parental checking of the common app, though there was an acknowledgment of perhaps doing it tomorrow. And sleep... I'll get to it. Yeah.
Tomorrow: Common app stuff! Work on monologue. Finish Portal! Visit relatives... And sleep, because apparently I really do need to be reminded.
