Not a turkey in sight

Nov 14, 2006 15:56

3:53 and I've bathed, dressed, made the Sam's run, and grocery store run. At the grocery store, I shared a lengthy conversation with the elderly gentleman bagger about gardening.

I like having nothing to do.

Oddly, our local grocery store must be the only one in the United States without a huge display of turkeys the week before Thanksgiving. Last year Ian and I made just a turkey breast for ourselves, and it was delicious. I spent five minutes actively searching for turkeys today, and found only a few - no standalone breasts. How odd. Looks like I'll have to fight the weekend crowds at the store after all.

Just as well -- I need to go to Target and pick up a new electric mixer anyhow. We have lived too long (two years, precisely) without mashed potatoes and Ian's special cheesecake.
