Around here, by now there are some frozen birds in the freezer cases, but there won't be fresh turkeys in the meat department for at least a few more days. The local natural meat shop, Newark Valley Angus, is taking orders for fresh and frozen turkeys and geese for the holidays. Mmmm. :-)

I'm not even being picky about fresh vs. frozen here -- I mean there were the usual 3 or 4 giant turkeys they seem to have year-round, but that was IT! Where are the sprawling aisles of turkey splendor that signify the single largest grocery shopping holiday of the year?
