We got snails. Man, have we got snails. They are less destructive than the slugs, but they are getting to be a problem.

Ok, I tried the coffee, and it is not bad. I don't notice the stunning difference that the author mentioned in her article, but mine is pretty strong. I do think that it has a different flavor, though.

Sooooo....

Jenmarya put up a post yesterday about how to cold brew iced coffee, and why. So I tried it. The coffee has been brewed, strained, and is in a jar in the fridge right now, because I have had too much coffee already today. But I promise to drink some and provide a full report.

Xeriscaping (click through to Wiki for more info) is the bomb. We need to do this on the terrace. Not sure how well we can actually do in making this three dimensional, but we certainly can to the plant grouping thing.

Today we did some rooftop gardening. Pics to follow. We transplanted the black bamboo to a large "trough" shaped planter to make a living screen at the back of the terrace. It is a little ratty looking now, but hopefully it will recover. Black bamboo is just gorgeous - jet black stalks and bright green leaves. Amazing contrast ( Read more... )

I am in a really good mood today. Many, many things are going right, inside and out. Boom!

Ever since I showed her this BBC article last week, SCD#1 has been very excited about being left handed.

Today she came home playing two recorders at the same time (hers and her sister's). It sounds pretty cool, because the instruments are just slightly out of sync, so it has a "chorus" effect that is quite nice.

Rock on, Super Cool Girl!

We went to the Circ Cric again this year, and it was really well done. Great little local circus.

They started Pallassos Sense Fronteres, good people.

And Pinocchio died, finally, may he rot on hell. And he died without ever showing contrition, denying what he had done like the coward that he was. Bad karma, very bad.
