Bonjour, y'all! (spring-sprang-sprung filter)

Howaya? Every last one o' ya? Good? Excellent!

Things here are going well. Chilly, but that is fine with me (no rain :-(, and I am back at work. SCD2 is going to archery twice a week and improving quickly, which is nice to see. On the way there and back we can hear the storks nesting on the church steeple clacking their bills as they work out their spring courtship rituals. Hell, you can hear them all over town - the place is lousy with storks.

I am pleasantly busy, with Masters activities, four paid translations and my job, which requires lots of spring cleaning and repairs.

My health is good, I have been cut loose from medical visits, although I will go see the rheumatologist again after I get a densitometry. The orthopedist wants to take the pins out of my left elbow now, but since he can't schedule any OR time, I will see him again in June to schedule something for summer or fall.

My cholesterol has been skyrocketing (hopefully from the meds), so I am trying to eat carefully. There is a nice little bodega a block away where I have been buying dried legumes to supplement the fresh organic veggies we get at the market on Saturdays. He has these great "honey" garbanzos from Salamanca, tiny and tasty. I make hummus out of those. Everything else usually goes into the pressure-cooker (to save time and energy) with some Thai curry paste and onions and such. Mmm. I just found out that our local super has a house-brand of Basmati rice that is not half bad, too, although it is white. We need to make a trip to the wholesale, grain/food store to stock up on split-peas, Thai and whole-grain rice, lentils of various kinds, and extras like quinoa and flax and sesame seeds.
