Monarch
I saw my first monarch butterfly yesterday. It was fluttering around the milkweed plants that I've preserved just for monarchs, because that's all they eat. Unfortunately, the milkweed flowers aren't open yet, so the poor butterfly could only gaze at them and wish they would bloom soon.
I've planted carrot seeds in a container, and replanted another container with more chive seeds. My original package of chive seeds didn't germinate AT ALL. Not one seed sprouted, so I bought some organic seeds online. They should work. I really like chives.
