Dexter's favorite game, by far, is tug. He brings me the rope and lays one end towards me when he wants to play. He also loves to jump up and down on my chest when I lie on my back, but I think I'm gonna phase out that game in case he thinks he's dominating me.
He sleeps with his eyes open sometimes, and it's sorta creepy.
He throws tantrums when I scold him for play-biting. Then he sulks like a toddler and eventually licks my hand, and all is well again.
He loves grass. He loves running through it, sitting in it, and tearing it out of the ground.
He loves to hunt bugs and chase butterflies. In the house he's my anteater and spidereater. I still have to handle the flying ones.
He barks at anything that remotely sounds like a dog, including: real dogs on TV, cartoon dogs on TV, and my friend Rob imitating a dog. Dexter also barks at the big black garbage can when I take the trash out.
He seems to actually see my computer screen. When I move things on screen he follows them with his eyes, and he gets surprised when I open a new window. I showed him some pictures of himself and his brothers when they were bitty puppies but he didn't seem to recognize them. I don't blame him, it's a static, scentless image. But anyway, I bet while I'm at work he's trading stocks or blogging or something. The least he can do is bring in an income.
If you haven't seen these pictures of him,
