K keeps nudging me about posting, so I guess I will. Never mind the fact that I don't have anything much to say. The house thing, obviously, is taking up most of our time, but K has covered that. I'm having some high quality back pains from the move, but that is neither interesting nor surprising, so I don't think I'll mention that. I also won't bring up the Brand New Levels Of Idiocy, Incompetence and Assholeism at work this week, or what I'm trying to do about it. Likewise, it's unlikely that you'll find it interesting how I'm finding new and not-so-exciting routes to work every morning, timing them and comparing to see which one is quicker, in a downright pathetic manner. I'm sure you don't want to hear about how excited I am about finally going to buy a rake so I can rake the leaves out of the yard and see what it looks like underneath. I could tell you about computer games I have wasted time on when I should have been putting things away after the move, but really, you wouldn't finish reading it.
However! There is one thing that I do believe is an unusual enough event to retell:
Thursday of last week, less than half a mile from work, I was rearended by a Lincoln limo at a red light, which spelled the end of my dear old Oldsmobile. The driver got out and quite readily admitted that it was his fault and asked if I had the insurance papers to fill out. It turned out that I did not, and he was getting back into his car to see if he did, when the passenger came out and it turned out to be Jeff Foxworthy. He was impressively drunk for it being 3:30 in the afternoon, but was friendly enough. A minute or so later, the police had shown up, as we were somewhat blocking traffic, but at that point Jeff had walked off, much to the consternation of the limo driver. Just as we were wrapping everything up with the paperwork, he came back and offered me a check for $8,000 for the car, so we wouldn't have to mess with the insurance and all that, and I only too gladly accepted. He packed himself into his limo and they drove off, and I had to arrange towing and things to get my car out of the way, plus a taxi for the 35 mile drive home. I'm figuring that's acceptable, after getting $8,000 for a $1,000 car, though :)
So. That was something that hopefully kept your interest. Not true, of course, but still.
