Checking In
I don't know why I have so much trouble keeping up with LJ lately. I really mean to update more often, but time just gets away from me. Maybe now that all the TV shows are finishing up for the season, I'll be on the computer more often. I guess I've also been busy.
This past weekend was pretty full. Friday night we went to a drag show, actually the Miss Scorpios Pride pageant, a preliminary to the Miss Pride Charlotte pageant. It was really fun! Then the next day we got up early (way too early considering we'd been out until almost 2 the night before) to meet some of Frank's friends for a local town festival where we walked around and blew all our cash on a gyro, food-long corn dog and lemonade. Ending the recession, one foot-long corn dog at a time! There was a small stage where kids from a local dance school were performing. A young guy did a ballet/modern type routine to "Raining in Baltimore" by Counting Crow, which was really cool. Oh, and speaking of Counting Crows, they are coming to Charlotte on August 21, 3 days after my b-day, and a Friday night, and at the new small amphitheater venue at the NC Music Factory! Whoo!
Anyway, back to the weekend...came home from the festival, napped, then got up and went out to dinner at Mayflower, a seafood place, and then to the movies. Saw Angels and Demons, not normally my kind of movie, but it was Frank's turn to choose. It was pretty good. Then Sunday we did a bunch of shopping- PetSmart, Target, Harris Teeter.
I have a new game I can't stop playing, despite the fact that it's sponsored by Wal-Mart:

It's addictive, but be careful- after you play for awhile it makes the computer act all weird, so don't play for too long.
