2011 Book Review

Dec 23, 2011 22:56

This year I have read 23 books. Most of them were re-reads and crime fiction novels. Though my reading streached out across a few genres including humour, fantasy, crime fiction, literary fiction and classic.

This is the list of novels that I have read:

Fantasy

The Farseer Trilogy (Assassin’s Apprentice, Royal Assassin, Assassin’s Quest) - Robin Hobb

The Blood Countess (Pandora English) - Tara Moss

Storm Front (The Harry Dresden Files) - Jim Butcher

Neverwhere - Neil Gaiman

American Gods - Neil Gaiman

Humour

Preincarnate - Shaun Micallef

The Vesuvius Club - Mark Gatiss

Murder Most Fab - Julian Clary

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

Crime Fiction

The Mermaid’s Singing - Val McDermid

Wire in the Blood - Val McDermid

The Last Temptation - Val McDermid

The Torment of Others - Val McDermid

Beneath the Bleeding - Val McDermid

Fever in the Bone - Val McDermid

Above Suspicion - Lynda La Plante

The Retribution - Val McDermid

Classics

The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde

Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson

Literary Fiction

The Shadow of the Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafon

The Crimson Petal and the White - Michel Faber

I hope to read a lot more books next year and novels by Terry Pratchett. Recently after seeing the tv adaption of Going Postal have decided to try the Discworld novels again after failing during High school.  Probably now that I'm older I will understand it more, like I did with Douglas Adams.
