So I'm thinking of starting a new blog on blogspot or something that focuses more on the deals that I get. There's a lot I want to talk about on this about them, but for those who actually read what I write, I worry that they would get bored if this became a one dimensional site, or irritated if it seemed like I was bragging too much. So I would love a little input if people would or wouldn't care if I shifted this to a more deals I do and don't get, ect, or if you would rather I focus just on my life and ideas, and did something sperate that you could browse through if you were ever curious.
In the meantime, they were talking on O and A today about the New York Post cartoon where police shot the woman eating chimp (p.s. don't own wild animals as pets, if you do, you aren't allowed to get upset when they maul your friends and family), and how everyone is in an uproar about how it was rasict, because the cops say something to the effect of "Now who is going to write the next stimulus bill." The uproar is that the cartoonist would be assuming that Obama is a monkey. Now this is art, so of course it is open to interpretation, and at first, I got excited, because I thought that it was going to be a drawing of the stuffed monkey that that old pedophile brought to a McCain rally, with an Obama sticker on it, and referring to it at the camera as "little Hussein Obama." If that was the case, I thought have thought it to be a brilliant piece of satire, but apparently, it was just the drawing of a normal chimp. Because this is art, and is open to interpretation, something that Ron and Fez drew on today, I sincerely hope that the artist doesn't get punished at work, as it is freedom of speech, and they chose to run it. I know everyone is going to have their own interpretation on it, but I did think that it was quite funny that this happened, because anyone who visits my myspace account knows that my background picture is of a group on monkies with the caption: "Congress, Yeah, it's kinda like that." I thought it was a clever picture, and my feeling was that the artist was drawing on that theory when he drew this up.
Whenever I go to play pool, or go to the bar, whenever me and whomever leave, I always play a game of Chug 21 on the touchscreen game they all inevitably have. The basic premise is to use a deck of cards, and try to build up to 21 in all of these columns, in order to get the most points. It's simple, but fun and addictive. I found that Yahoo games has a similar version called Tornado 21, and it's my new current addiction. So while I sit at my computer playing my simple card games, my PS2 has gone untouched since some point in 2008, and the last time I used the Wii for something other then Wii Fit, was also in 2008, where I played a little guitar hero. That said, I just bought another game for the Wii because it was a good deal. D'oh ;O)
Work is immensely busy but I don't really like a lot of the people on my restructed team, so I just go in do my thing and leave, they are a bunch of rats anyways, so no big loss. I'm still working on trying to bring down the cost of our roadtrip this summer. I've already got the 3 days in Myrtle Beach free, but I didn't get those three days in Nashville I was trying for. In the meantime, I've started working on the Best Rate Guarantee for the remaining days (cliff notes version, BRG states that if you book with a certain site, and then find another site advertising a lower price, you can submit a claim, and if it is still lowered when reviewed, the first night of your stay is free. If you only stay one night, then it's still free.) So last night, I found a hotel in Charlotte, a Radisson hotel that was 10 dollars cheaper on hotels.com By all appearances, it would seem that I would get approved, but I was hesitant, because I was new at doing this, and it was a non refundable room which meant that if for whatever reason, hotels.com raised their price between my submission, and when it was reviewed by the original site, then I wouldn't get my free hotel room, and instead of being able to just cancel the reservation at no charge, would be stuck with a 90 dollar room. So I went ahead with it, and when I got home from work today, I got an email from them stating that I was getting the room for free! I was so excited and so relieved. So for lodging purposes, 4 days down, 4 more to go.
