Way back when, my parents used to raise Labrador Retrievers.

Our original two labs, Princess and Sheba, wound up not being what my mother wanted in terms of dogs to breed (they both failed their hip X-rays for hip displaysia), so we just decided that they would be spayed and live out the rest of their days as pets with us.
