A couple of years ago I posted some pictures from my first knee-surgery. They were impressive, but after I had my second surgery in september '10 it was SO MUCH BETTER.
Directly after surgery I was able to go home. Because the bandages were itchy I decided to take them off and put on a bandaid instead. I looked at the wound and it was very funny, it looked a bit like a casserole.
I saw that the wound was still a bit open but though 'oh whatever, it'll grow back together in a few days.
But after a few days it started looking like this
And it got infected. I decided to go to the hospital because my leg got red, hot and very painful. Also I got a fever. At the hospital they decided to test for bacteria and gave me a very painful shot to get some fluid out of my leg.
They told me to clean the wound 2-3 times a day and to do it very firm so it would start bleeding. So I did (au!) and discovered there was a HOLE in my leg, about 1,5-2 cm deep! Wtf?
I also got started on antibiotics (hello nasty yeast infections and massive liquidshits) but after a couple of days the wound got a bit better.
Right now I feel like a creature in a horrormovie who's skin is falling off. It'll get better though. I hope :)
Ahhh surgeries. So much fun :)
