Shoe Inflation

Aug 18, 2008 11:45

Eight years ago I bought size 9.5 shoes and they fit me well. They still do - I'm wearing some right now. But recently I went shoe shopping and discovered that in 2008 I'm most comfortable wearing size 10.5. lockalsh thinks I might even need an 11 for running.

I am convinced that the inflation crisis has been spreading to shoe sizes. If the central shoemakers don't do something drastic we'll end up in hyper-shoe-inflation and I'll end up buying sizes formerly found only on clown shoes.

Side note: I still wear a European 43, which proves that the euro is a good hedge against inflation.
