CESTVS GET--!

;o; !!!

This evening the pack with my Cestus books arrived safe and sound!

The first time I heard about this manga was from lord_herve... We share the love for fighting manga series, so we just happened to talk about it...
Recently the series has been scanlated by The Wild Fang Project and I finally had a chance to read it.
Obviously I got immediately hooked. *hopeless*
The series is licensed in Italy since TEN YEARS AGO, so it's available, but the first volumes are considered antiquary pieces, and they can be quite expensive (around 10 euros each)... Fortunately I found on ebay a guy who was selling the whole collection at a reasonable price... The postal fees kinda killed me, but I got the pack in record time!

So-- A brief summary with pics and characters introduction :D

Here we go... The cute boy on your left is Cestus, the protagonist of this series, what you call a gladiator.
The hot boy at his right is Rocco, his best friend. Obviously in his first match Cestus has to fight against Rocco and killed him :/
The guy at your right is Zafar, Cestus' boxing teacher.
He was an awesome warrior too, but since he damaged his knee he is just relegated to training youths.

Rocco just died and Cestus was selected to reach the Capital and start his career as a proper gladiator.
Here he met awesome Lusca, the prettiest boy EVER.
Lusca is a soldier boy, not a slave, and he practices pancrates... His matches are mostly fanservices for the audience.
He's some kind of idol in Rome because of his strenght and pretty appearance.
He manages to befriend Cestus.

Fun fact, Lusca is the son of Demetrio, this very badass villain who's responsible of smashing Zafar's knee.
Demetrio is a sadistic bastard and he's very harsh with his own soon too... Fortunately Lusca is pretty different from him and longs to kill his wicked old man.
Despite Demetrio and Zafar being old rivals, they still manage to get all nostalgic about it XD

The other main character of this story is Nerone. ..Yeah, he's famous as the emperor who set Rome on fire and blamed the Christians for it as an excuse to persecute them, but here he's portrayed as a gentle boy who'd love to focus on art and music but has to deal with the harsh world of politics.
Next to him you can spot his mum Agrippina and his young wife, Ottavia.

The fighting scenes and poses are just amazing.
LOL, this pancrates stuff had to hurt a lot XD

And since it's a story set during Roman times... DEBAUCHERY!!!
(yes, it's Nero and his mum ò_o)

I'm pretty hyped by this series so I think that I'm going to make summaries of the next volumes, also if probably just lord_herve is going to read them XD
--Now I'm off to read! *neglects art duties*
