Favorites of the Year 2015: Music

Dec 31, 2015 03:10

Na na na na na, baby give it up, give it up, baby give it up...

This year's Favorite Music list was easier to make than last year, thanks to the abundance of oldies - including KC and the Sunshine Band's hit "Give It Up" - in some of my favorite soundtracks, but I still almost forget to collect the favorites! Well, excuse me for not being an avid music listener... but at least I have more than 5 favorites this year.

Sing with me now:

If I risk it all
Could you break my fall?
How do I live? How do I breathe?
When you're not here I'm suffocating
I want to feel love, run through my blood
Tell me is this where I give it all up?
For you I have to risk it all
Cause the writing's on the wall

Favorite Music (I Listened To) In 2015

Songs from Kingsman: The Secret Service

Hmm. Take Take That, Iggy Azalea and Lynyrd Skynyrd for a Kingsmansy playlist. I don't think this is the official soundtrack but these songs all featured in the film and they're better than the official OST album.

Walk Off The Earth - Sing It All Away

One of my favorite bands since 2 years ago and their new album plays in my car constantly when I'm driving by myself. I like this album even better than their first.

Mad Max: Fury Road Soundtrack

The movie was made more fantastic by this dynamic soundtrack filled with scores from Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg). I usually can't stand the way his scores are used in films but with Mad Max: Fury Road, it's a masterpiece.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Soundtrack

Coolest soundtrack this year, with oldies Italian songs and the smoothest scores by Daniel Pemberton, that you can thoroughly enjoy without seeing the movie. And without a doubt this is my favorite album overall in 2015.

The Martian Soundtrack

It's this year's Guardians Of The Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. I. It's got a great score from Harry Gregson William but the highlight is the Songs from The Martian disc which has the "bad disco" music that Mark Watney disses in the movie. He hates it, but I love it.

Carly Rae Jepsen - E•MO•TION

Several months ago I would have been too embarrassed to admit that I'm crazy about Carly Rae Jepsen's second album. Now? I'm okay to admitting that I was addicted to it for a very long time. The only thing that broke my addiction was the next item on this list...

Sam Smith's "Writing's On The Wall"

Say what you want about this James Bond song. Compare it all you like to Adele's "Skyfall". I don't care. The song is earworm-y to the max and I'm still humming it under my breath. I hate Spectre the film but this song... THIS SONG. I'M RISKING IT ALL.
