Let me just say that today has been a completely bizarre day.
It started at midnight last night, actually. Yesterday evening my sister and I watched Inkheart the movie (FINALLY!!!) and stayed up really late because of it. Just when we were about to turn in, the phone rang. It was my aunt who called and she was bearing bad news: one of my uncles and his family had been in an auto accident in the highway. O__o;; Thankfully, there was no reason for great panic because we managed to contact my uncle, aunt and cousin, and ascertained that they survived the collision (yes, it was THAT kind of accident). They were being treated at the hospital and already had their wounds treated. My young cousin was all right; he was unharmed. My uncle needed a few stitches on his face. My aunt had the most worrisome condition because her chest seems to hurt when she breathes but she's a tough woman, so I think she will be all right. This morning, my dad and his other brother and another one of my aunts went to the hospital to pick them up. I haven't heard any news from my family but in this case, no news is good news. That's that.
I also want to say that my aunt, who was sitting at the back of the car, didn't wear a seatbelt (my cousin and uncle did). When this was explained to me, the fact that she had the most worrisome condition didn't seem so strange to me anymore. So I'm saying this to people now: WEAR YOUR SEAT BELTS, PLEASE!
Oh yeah, about Inkheart movie... well, I wasn't disappointed by it. It didn't exactly meet my expectations but it's infinitely more enjoyable than the book. I was hoping that the movie would be more... charming. But, no. Nothing really charming there. Just plain ol' mindless adventure movie. Not complaining, though; considering that the book progresses very slowly, I'm just glad the movie doesn't follow the book's pace.
I'm not sure I like the portrayals of some characters here but still no complaints! Capricorn and his band of ugly villains aren't annoying enough, but Dustfinger is definitely more interesting in the movie than in the book (and I swear to you that the fact that Paul Bettany was shirtless in the movie has got nothing to do with my assessment whatsoever). I think Paul B. portrayed Dustfinger in a completely different way than how the character's supposed to be, but it's OK. It's more interesting this way. And, by the way, Helen Mirren and Jim Broadbent rock as well. And I am constantly amazed at how YOUNG Brendan Fraser looks. Did he sell his soul to the devil or something? He looks SO YOUNG. O__o;;
I'm skipping the topics about today's political rally by PKS and work. The less said about these two topics the better.
Moving on...
arancia dropped by and I chatted with her for about half an hour while drinking my coffee. During that time, I managed to sort out the messy furs that my smoochfest plot bunny has. So now the bunny is fully tamed. I'm working on it and hopefully I can send it over to the betas by this weekend.
Wait.
OH GOD, I FORGOT TO PAY FOR MY COFFEE! MY BILL AT STARBUCKS IS STILL OPEN!
Must go pay. O__o;; (See what I mean by bizarre day?!)
