Our latest foster is Slider. He is a 7 year old black Cocker Spaniel who weighs around 35 lbs. He has a cold. He is a good boy and we may keep him.

Our latest foster dog is Sherlock. He is a 3.5 year old, male, 20 lb dog. The humane society says he is a Puggle but I think he is a Boxer-Something mix. He is kind of shy and nervous right now but he has warmed up a litle already. There has been no friction with Trudy. He was picked up as a stray and is kind of emaciated. We had a record turnout this year. I counted an even 100 kids this year. Up from 93 last year. We still had Gordie's and Casey's costumes from last year ( skunk and headless horseman). We didn't have Trudy last year so this year we dressed her up as a ladybug. The picture of Gordie in his costume didn't turn out well.

Two months ago Elsaf was over for Sunday dinner with her dogs Floyd and Ollie. During the course of dinner the silicon headed basting brush disappeared from the table by the barbecue. We later found the handle but not the brush head. I blamed Floyd for it ( Read more... )

I value the toads in my garden. They are valuable creatures for eating garden pests. For the most part the dogs pay no attention to them. The one exception was Rosie. Each morning in the summer there would be a large toad sitting on the deck. Rosie would walk over and sniff the toad and then Rosie would then walk away. Once I found her lying down ( Read more... )
