First the good news: Fudge was adopted today (see two posts previous).
The bad news:Last week we had to have our cat Granny put down. She was 19 years old and one terrific old girl. She had a mass/tumor in her chest which was impinging on her heart, lungs and wind pipe. Two and a half years ago she had an easter egg sized tumor removed from her chest. She had recovered well but it eventually returned. Our cats Minerva and Falstaff are both extremely depressed from losing their comrade. Both cats have lost their appetite and both are extremely lethargic. Hopefully, time will heal them both.
Our latest foster is Trudy. Trudy is a 14 lb Chihuahua/Beagle mix. She was picked up as a stray and taken to the Detroit Branch of the Michigan Humane Society so her age is unknown. She is blind in one eye ( and from my observation she doesn't see too well in the other eye.) She is super sweet and has a incurable case of Floyd tail.
She is okay around cats. She paid no attention at all to our cat Jeanette when they met. She just walked right on past Jeanette. So far she is getting along really well with Gordie and Casey. Trudy has an upper respiratory infection (URI). We will keep her until she is well enough to have her eye removed (shades of Wink) and then she can go up for adoption.
