Cleansed
Howie and I are, surprisingly, fine. Getting sick left us too tired to fight so it stopped the cycle of verbal abuse. Time washed our hurts away so neither of us had any reason to defend ourselves or pick on the other person. Lately I've been reading on the topic of kind communication. The Biblical theory is that bitter words come from a polluted heart and the solution is to clean the source first and then the words will take care of themselves. I'm praying more and trying to keep good thoughts in my head and squelch the nasty ones. I want to start memorizing some Psalms again because they are such uplifting poems for me.
