Day 2, Istanbul Trip

Feb 16, 2013 11:17

We had a nice breakfast at the hotel where there was like, only one other person because we came down early. I wanted to get out before the tour group crowd ascended and good thing too because there was already more people out and about than I expected, and then later it was just a swarm of them.

We only went to two places today, though we spent about 3-4 hours at each place and my feet were killing me by the end. Our first stop was the Topkapi Palace Museum. It's really cool; there were lots to see (At one point though, a cleaner came in to clean the display case and we both just spent a few dorky moments just admiring how well he cleaned it - the big diamond jewelry behind the glass became an afterthought lol XD). I especially loved some of the rooms that look like lounge areas with ultra huge couch-like areas, and the weaponry. Ooh! And there was a section on clocks which seemed random but was very nice. Too bad we couldn't take pics of a lot of the things. Then we went to the Archaelogy Museum which was right next door.

I want a place like this!

You da man!!

A short clip, mostly for the audio. During the call to prayer - the sounds is just so all-encompassing that I couldn't help but be affected in some way.
