First day back at work. My boss tell me that the BIG BOSS was 'unhappy' that I was on leave when the work event was happening. Here's a thought. One person? Working the whole department? Might not be so practical.
It was a nice day to visit the land of the hobbits. We were picked up at the tourist centre by 'Cousin Ben' and spent one hour getting there as it was all the way in Matamata. During the drive, I managed to spot about 14 roadkills - squirrels, birds, cats. And that's not counting those splattered messes that looked too indistinguishable.
Hobbiton was awesome! There was great attention to detail with the props - the things in the windows, the fake growth on the fences. Since the doors were normal-sized, I could really imagine a small village looking like this. And it's just a really beautiful place.
We saw the party tree, which Caroline, our guide, told us was unfortunately dying. We were only allowed to see the Green Dragon pub from afar. But the scenery is wonderful. The green just keeps on going. There were lots of sheep in the background and she told us how every day they had to take them away when they were doing a scene then put them back. And there were like, 12,000 sheep there? It sounds like such hard work.
Back at the rest stop, there was an opportunity to feed the sheep, but I didn't get to do it. Those animals suck those bottles fast! Instead though, I got to hold a little lamb in my arms (I used to think sheep and lamb were different animals, but found out that a lamb was just a sheep that was less than one year old).
Omg, you guys.
OMG.
The moment Caroline put it in my arms, I fell completely and utterly in love with it. I didn't want to let go of it at all. I turned to my sis, 'Can I bring it home with me? 0w0' Its fur is so thick. I was patting it down and it goes in deep, I couldn't even feel its body. I wanted to smush my face in it. I wanted to lie down and snuggle with it. By the end, it was like,
Caroline: Do you want to put him down now?
Me: NO! T____T *holds tighter*
Caroline: *Announcer voice* We will be checking bags, pockets...
I wish I can steal you away~
I had to say goodbye, though. omg sigh... We went shopping after we came back. I love little towns like these where you can just walk everywhere. I'd want to live somewhere like that someday.
Has anyone been doing jobs on the side...?
We ate at a little Indian restaurant called Chimney. It was very very nice, lovely food. When it came out, we were thinking, that's not a lot, we might order some more. But by the end, we were stuffed and there was still a lot left. After we had as much as we could, we decided to loosen our stomachs by going for a walk and headed to the lake.
It's really so much colder at night, unsurprisingly, and very quiet. Just a few people were out. I wonder what people do at this time, and it's not even late. But I love the peacefulness of it anyway, and how safe it feels for two girls to just walk in the dark like this. My camera battery died here, so no pictures of this beautiful night.
I saw the stars and realised just how beautiful they were. I wanted to lie down on the grass to see it. Instead we found our way to the playground, and sat on the swings. Two of us, leaning back as we swung, watching the night sky.
Then my sis told me it was time to go back since I was sniffling like crazy already. But I told her not before I crossed the little bridge on the playground and down the slide.
