I was going to write this earlier, but I got distracted watching the first season of Alphas and Youtube videos of Penn & Teller: Fool Us.

Bah! Travelling seems to come with those sorts of issue :x. I think it's worth it, though!

That sign is awesome xD

And that room looks so small!

I try to take extra steps to make it as painless as possible, but yeah, sometimes things do come up.

It was! It definitely fit the bill of a budget motel.

Haha this had me giggling. I don't know how Rotorua locals can stand that smell! If the wind is blowing the wrong way I find it overpowering. I'm glad you made it ok with all the travelling, it always makes me feel that NZ is realy in the middle of nowhere once you fly out of Australia and across ocean for hours. Naw I bet you flew right by me in Melbourne! Looking forward to the rest of your trip report :D

:) It is pretty strong; sometimes it's okay and sometimes it can smell really bad. But my sense of smell isn't that sensitive so it wasn't too problematic for me. I almost puked that third flight, but thankfully managed to steady myself. The moment you pass customs anywhere, to me it feels like 'Congratulations! You are not a criminal!'. Whew. Success!
There were things that did make me think about how NZ was quite isolated down there.
^_^!!

I have to admit that I'm not very organised with travelling. I pretty much just book my flights, pack my stuff the day before I'm supposed to travel & then just hope that everything will be OK after that.

Again, awesome photos! :)

Haha, you free spirit. I like to have a few things prepared so I know what to do and spend my time as best as possible.

Thanks! :)

Wow you got those aeroplane cards again. You must have a huge collection of them.

I hate going through customs in Australia. The people from customs are such a pain. They have to scan your bags over and over again even when they couldn't find anything and even when you have declared every single thing you have. The customs in Asia is soo much better, they actually consider you to be a pain when you declare stuff and always let you go quickly. I heard that customs in NZ is pretty strict too.

Ps. I like the panda in the pic

Nah, I've only just started collecting them so that's basically it. Used to be the barf bags or the little tissue insert on the headrest, but I've lost those.

Yup, one of the reasons i kind of don't want to go there; the customs is hardcore. Definitely in Asia they're more loose with it haha.

"we took the opportunity to freshen up using samples from this place. It felt fun and sneaky, even though technically it was free anyway."

I love doing that.

Also...customs in Australia and New Zealand is always bad. Some years back they took me to one side in New Zealand and took swab samples of my stuff checking for meat and dairy....it was funny because I am a vegan.

It was fun, treating the airport as a home! :) Everything's there already; toilet, tv, cafes as your kitchen, row of chairs as your bed. I even walked around in my socks and ran around to warm myself up when it was mostly empty.
