Today was one of those days when I just knew everything was going to go right. There was no way around it!
I woke up at 7, and was actually awake. My first exam of grad school was coming up at 10, so I took my time, had breakfast, gathered my things and went to Starbucks. I did a little light studying, but mostly people watching because I knew I had chemistry down. Went up to the lab, prepared a few things, and wandered off to sit back in the comfy chairs at the library for a while.
As it approached 10, I grabbed a newspaper, walked into class, and started reading as others crammed over their notes. I destroyed that test. No survivors. I walked back home with a huge grin on my face.
I have taken to listening to audio books while I cook (a great way to keep it from becoming a chore), so I enjoyed some of Life of Pi as I had lunch.
Then it was off to the lab. My professor and I run whole day experiments in there, but our schedules are staggered, so when I walked in I just found a timer waiting for me letting me know where to pick up. I was running around, really busy all afternoon, but I love it when I can keep so busy, doing important things, without needing anyone to tell me what to do. I stopped to meet with my homework group in the middle of it and still managed to finish early.
I made a huge, delicious plate of spaghetti, once again loving every second of Life of Pi.
Then came dance. I love dance. Who would have guessed? The social interaction, learning something together. The thrill of discovery, and the hilariousness of defeat. It is just like a break from the rest of reality. Tonight I concentrated on learning to be a stronger leader, and the amazing thing is, it works! If I tell a girl what to do, she does it! Fun times.
Afterward I walked this beautiful girl home. She is awesome. She spent two years in Italy, and her brother is in Germany. She has a double major; Philosophy, and Computer Science. How cool it that! I sorta asked her on a date, because there was no way anything was going wrong today. So, yeah! I walked home so happy that my smiling was only interrupted by sporadic bursts of laughter. It has been a good day.
And on top of all that, I am driving to Aurora tomorrow to visit the grandparents, so it feels like I am going on vacation!
