Dinner with the family
My uncle called today and asked if I wanted to get together for dinner. Uncle Don and Aunt Liz live here in town, so I get to see the now and then, but it had been a few weeks. I feel like such a college student, only going out to eat when the family takes me.
I really enjoy hanging out with them. I had never spent much time with them before, but they are interesting people. My aunt is a professor over in the veterinary medicine department and my uncle is a doctor and marathon-runner. They both went to school here, so they have really helped me learn to care and have pride about this place.
Awesome potluck dinner last night. I made veggie chili, which is slowly getting refined into the perfect recipe. There has been talk of a chili cook-off later this year. The night eventually ended up centered around playing Asshole and Kings as we tried to polish off massive quantities of beer. Good times!
Considering coming home for Thanksgiving... really not sure.
