Hah!

So, I read my way through my first Gaiman solo novel yesterday. You can tell I enjoyed it by the fact I finished it in the space of a day. Neverwhere is awesome, Emily, I will have to lend it to you, you'll love it, the plot is like a corkscrew. I even got the comic version of it today, which is also awesome. Gonna have to get the TV show too O_O

HERE, I SHALL POST SPOILERS, AND OH YES, THEY DO SPOIL THE PLOT MUCHLY.

Richard Mayhew looks and sounds like James Nesbit in my head, despite his appearance in the comic. I think it's the Scottish unshaven thing. Hunter, also contrary to her comic appearance, looks like Zoe in Firefly.
On Hunter, my favourite scene is her catching that crowbar thorwn at her from behind without turning her head and then asking poiltiely. 'Is this yours?'. Warrior women rock. Even when they're traitors.

I have come to the conclusion that Gaiman-esque angels have holy-issues. Aziraphale, though a complete sweetheart is, as Crowley pointed out, a bit of a bastard sometimes. I mean, he lied to God, and spends his time with a demon, then went to fight the appocaypse despite Heaven telling him otherwise.
That, you have to admit, isn't proper behaviour for an angel. But then...then you meet Islington.
Imagine if Azirapahle remained sexless, kept his personality. Got that? Okay. Now, twist his angelic need to punish the wicked into a homicidal hatred.
....Islington is a fucking scary angel.
