Alias, Blood Ties.
-I'm so glad the kryptonite smack was finally explained. I mean, you just never know with these hack writers. And, uh, that bubble of... goo when Sloane smashed the hourglass- Oh, Alias, you and your bad special effects! <3
-Vaughn and Lauren talking about going on vacation to Fiji reminded me of Double Agent. I guess it's the happening place to go for couples who are lying to each other.
-Weiss following Lauren! YAY Weiss! Get down wit yo bad self. ...Yeah, i can't pull that off. But hey, that was awesome, stealthy!Weiss. Even if he did lose her.
-Holy shit, Bill Vaughn was a Rambaldi fanboy! I know we had always speculated, but for that to actually be true... wow. Pretty crazy. So not only did Syd's mom kill Vaughn's dad, he died because of Syd's sister. At this point, i'm almost expecting Syd and Vaughn to actually have known each other when they were kids. TOTALLY WHACK, dudes.
-Jack is Syd's dad! Really for real! And Jack loves her! No matter what! Not that i ever really doubted it, but it's good to have it confirmed once and for all. It's a relief. I'm still a little puzzled as to why Sloane led Barnett to believe he was Syd's dad, though. He knew it wasn't Sydney... i guess just to pull one over on Barnett, but still, doesn't make much sense to me. Oh, or it was so they had something shocking to put in the promos. That too.
-So, that first shot of Vaughn, tied up, shirtless, and wet. Oh, and don't forget the blood. BLOOD. Uhm... hm. And then... yeah. With the... uh huh. Yeah. Okay! I'm all done here, folks, thanks for stopping by. I mean, seriously, there isn't much i can say. ... No, really, i'm trying to think of something, but i can't. I enjoyed it. Quite a bit. I think the wetness really made it, for me, personally. If he hadn't been wet, it just wouldn't have been the same. I mean... wetness. Water droplets dripping off of eyelashes. And... other places. It was a good thing, is all i'm saying.
-Paleontologist!Syd was soooooo cuuuuuute. I felt bad for the poor nerdy guy, though. He thinks this hot geeky chick is into him and it's his lucky day, but she's actually an international spy who's totally playing him. Doesn't that make you sad? Poooooor nerdy dinosaur guy. I could make a joke about Ross Gellar and yet another Alias/Friends parallel here... but i won't. Well, okay, maybe later.
-"Holding that thing, you almost look like you've hit puberty." Whoah whoah WHOAH-- when did Vaughn grow his balls back?? Dude. That was badass. Torture always seems to make people awesomely snarky. Yay torture!
-I actually thought that Lauren was lying to Vaughn about them already having performed the Inferno procedure, but i did not think i would be right. Go me! Vaughn running in front of moving vehicles and flailing his arms around was really, really funny. You'll get yourself killed that way, ace. And i know there are people that wouldn't have a problem with that. I loooooved that it was all a set-up, and Lauren was LYING. That just makes me unbelievably happy, because the line from the preview about it not all being a lie was pissing me off. Lies! Lies! Yay for lies!
-Sister! Sydney has a sister! And she's pretty! And she really resembles Irina! Wheeeee! The whole time i was like "What did you say, Sydney? WHAT DID YOU SAY? Getting weepy as soon as you see her does not look like you're not getting attached! It doesn't!" She's such a sucker. That's okay, though, because the ass-kicking? SO AWESOME. I actually said "I LOVE FAMILY!" Sisters. Kicking ass. It rocked. Unfortunately, it'll probably never happen again, if they're meant to kill each other and all. Damn. But, okay, for some reason, it still makes me a little sad to think that Syd has a sister (even though i like her a lot from what we've seen of her so far). It's just like, it was always Syd and Jack are the most important to Irina. Spy!Family4eva! But... she has another daughter. Sydney isn't as special anymore! It kind of makes me sad, in a weird way. Not to mention that actually having the character introduced now, the relationships on this show just got a hell of a lot more complicated. Even knowing about her before, it's still a whole different ballgame seeing her in person and watching her interact with other characters (kind of like when Lauren was introduced!). It's crazy! CRAZY!
-STILL weird that Sloane has a daughter.
-Will! Will mention! Will and Amy! Oh man, way to make me incredibly sad and nostalgic. I miss Will.
-Hey! I was wondering when Syd and Vaughn were gonna have a scene together! It's strange that he was missing and being tortured the whole episode, and Syd had no idea. At least she didn't have the opportunity to cry about it! HA! Aw, hand-holding. Awww. And, like, dude, now he doesn't even have to pretend to be married anymore! The jig is up! Ah, sweet, sweet justice.
-Slooooooane! WHAT THE FUCK! I was all sympathetic to him and everything, and then he goes and makes his daughter the Rambaldi conduit anyway. Bastard.
So, another entertaining episode. Shock of all shocks! I really really like Nadia already. I really really wish she and Sydney could work together. Screw the fucking prophecy! I wanna see girls kicking ass! Syd never gets along with other girls on the show (at least, not since Francie). I want a girl she can get along with, i do. It would be nice if it were someone normal, but... this is Alias. That's obviously not going to happen. You know what else i want? For Irina to come back. Of course, that's a given, but... really. It always deserves a mention. She's so pivotal, and it's getting to a point where it's totally ridiculous to not have her around. Plus, i miss her. Sigh. I would just fucking love to see all the Derevko women together at the same time. Even just once. It would be so. awesome.
Oh, and one more thing- wet, shirtless Vaughn being tortured by Sark. That is all.
