The Big Bang Theory

I just want to say that i laughed at the ball pit scene harder than i have ever laughed at anything else on this show. I cracked up all the way through the commercial break. I had tears streaming down my face. I remembered it as i was laying in bed to go to sleep and laughed some more. THE SHEER INSANITY OF IT. I've never even been the biggest fan of "bazinga!" but i've grown accustomed to it, and it worked for me here. I also keep picturing an animated gif of salmon jumping upstream but with Sheldon's face pasted on them.

Also: Sheldon's mussed up hair in the first scene of the episode. Oh god, Jim Parsons. You have become far too attractive to me.

So today TBBT was still kind of on my mind due to aforementioned hilarity, and then i was thinking that they're in LA. Which is where Lost has based a lot of its non-island action. And then i was like, the guys are physicists. OH SHIT, LOST CROSSOVER TIME! Sheldon is going to discover the island. He will begrudgingly save them all! Daniel Faraday can be his new best friend! akghsjfg

Lost

HEY GUESS WHAT

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST

IT'S BACK

WITH A VENGEANCE

OR SOMETHING

Honestly i'm more happy than any other emotion! Even more than i am confused! I don't know where to begin to form an opinion! Other than "OH GOLLY, WATCHING THIS SHOW PLEASES ME GREATLY."

Despite not having ANY REMOTE CLUE where the hell this season would start out, i thought that a reset to 815 not crashing was the most likely scenario. So when it went back to the island after the cold open i was like ".......what." I was NOT expecting to get it both ways. GOOD JOB GUYS, you split the timeline into parallel universes! :D :D :D :D :D OH MAN, the alternate reenactment of events is SO EXCITING. It was so weird to watch the opening scene knowing at exactly what point during the turbulence the plane drops... and then not seeing it happen. Seeing Jack and Kate interact for the first time was omg the best (fun fact: a billion years ago, either during season one or two, i started a fic that was all different alternate universes of them encountering each other under varying circumstances. i always meant to finish it, but i ran out of ideas. :( in any case, TO SUM UP, it is vastly thrilling to see an alternate universe PLAY OUT CANONICALLY, WHAAAAAAAT) And just... gosh, ALL OF THEM meeting for the first time again! Boooooooone! Sayid helping Jack save Charlie! (shiiiiiit remember in the beginning before Sayid's dark past was revealed and he was basically a second Jack??!!?! SAYIIIIIIIID) Charlie was supposed to die! :O Sawyer and Hurley! JACK AND LOCKE oh my goodness they could have been friends. ;___; ARZT!! DESMOND!!!!!!?!?!?!?? CLAIRE!!!!!!!!!!! LOL even Greg Grunberg pilot announcements. XD Sucks Shannon wasn't there, though. Or Michael or Walt. Or Ana-Lucia or Eko or Libby.

But even though it was all very exciting, it was so depressing at the same time. Sun and Jin back to being cold to each other (yeah, i underestimated how awful that is to see again), Hurley as the luckiest guy in the world instead of the unluckiest (that is sad for some reason!), Charlie with his drugs, Kate on the run, Locke back in the wheelchair, Sawyer pre-LaFleur. Either their lives are miserable on the island or their lives are miserable in the same way they were before, but at least on the island they had years worth of personal growth. U--unless they're dead. So, basically, here are your choices: a) miserable, b) tragic, c) dead, d) all of the above. YAY LOST.

Additionally, i am a dweeb who just kept hoping for Kate to run into Jack again. (maybe it'll be Jack in the elevator! oh, nope, Sawyer. maybe it'll be Jack in the cab! oh, nope, Claire.)

When Kate first woke up in the tree on the island and then was trying to find everyone else, i had a brief moment of thinking she actually wouldn't find anyone and i was really excited to see Kate's adventures on her own. This stems back to how intrigued i still am by the original plan for the show being Jack dying in the pilot and Kate being the protagonist. Even though it wouldn't have given me my ~*~*~*OTP FOR THE AGES*~*~*~, i like Kate enough that the concept fascinates me. But anyway, KATE CLIMBING TREES: STILL THE ADORABLEST.

THEN i was worried that Jack being on the island and unconscious meant that the opening scene was a dream. Which, ugh, so glad that didn't happen. But i am a little confused about the nuking-the-island-timeline-split. In the first timeline, it set the current show progression straight and sent the 1977 losties back to 2007, with everything the same as we know it. In the second timeline... it sunk the whole island in 1977? (and killed the whole Dharma Initiative? ...AND BABY MILES??!?!) So how would they all have gotten on Flight 815 in almost the same position they were in before? Obviously you can subscribe to a non-butterfly effect theory, where that one event occurring at a point when the island was unrelated to them is not going to change their lives, and yet we've been shown so many times how their lives are all interconnected, with the island factoring into at least SOME of that. And you're telling me that Hurley still won the lottery... without using the cursed numbers? BUT of course we still don't know how Jacob and the Man in Black REALLY factor into all of this, soooooooooooooooo. Yeah.

OH AND THAT DUDE IS THE SMOKE MONSTER HA HA WHAAAAAAAAAT. Well that kind of takes the fun out of anthropomorphizing Smokey as a pet. :/

JUUUUUUUULIEEEEET. Seeing her fall in the pit and detonate the nuke was HEARTWRENCHING again because i hadn't seen it since last season. Ugh. :( But between catching the tail end of the recap show, then the "Previously on Lost", then just showing it within the episode... that was too many times to watch that scene within a span of ten minutes. Anyway, they could have just had her dead from the get-go, but instead they had to give me hope that she would live and THEN kill her. So... thanks. For that. You bastards. ;______; (Kate hearing her down in the pit and then everybody rushing to get her out actually for real made me think of Ghostbusters and the guys rushing to bust Dana out of the dog statue at the end. .................yeah. THAT'S MY BRAIN, FOLKS.) I got a little tired of Sawyer making angry eyes the whole time and would have rather just seen him being heartbroken, but jeez that really is a raw deal. In one universe she's dead, and in another he's never met her and doesn't know what he's missing. THAT'S AWFUL.

Sayid's "death" was weirdly unaffecting because a) it was obvious he would come back to life, and b) having the alternate timeline wherein everyone is alive makes death seem far more inconsequential. It's like having clones or something! THERE WERE THREE DISTINCTLY SEPARATE LOCKES IN THIS EPISODE. LOL WTF

Jack attempting to resuscitate dead Sayid with Kate by his side, hey hey, callback to resuscitating dead Charlie in season one! Except this time Jack gave up and nobody was crying. And also Sayid is probably Jacob now, ha. Hey remember when Boone died at the same time Aaron was born?! HEY REMEMBER AARON?!?

Locke's suitcase full of knives. :D

MIIIIIIIIIILES. I LIKE HIM.

I really miss Daniel. :(

Fake Locke telling Ben what Locke's last thought was. ;__; Ouch.

Oh shit! Temple guard!

KATE FOUND CLAIRE just like she promised! Except... it's in an alternate universe! OH WELL

I LOVE SAYING ALTERNATE UNIVERSE AND HAVING IT BE A LITERAL REFERENCE TO WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING ON THE SHOW ♥___♥

oh golly oh gosh oh jeepers

I can't believe the final season has begun. WE'RE IN THE SHIT NOW
