So you know what's the cutest thing ever?
The latest cover of Entertainment Weekly. I LOVE IT. I don't even really care about Jim/Pam anymore (TRAGICALLY), and yet that picture makes me goofy happy. AWWWWW. I've been catching reruns of season three recently which makes the fact that they are now getting married and having a baby seem even CRAZIER. JEEZ.
Dollhouse
Well that clinches it. Dr. Saunders ought to be the main character, and i definitely ship her with Topher.
I was a bit taken aback by how CRAZY she went, but i was so so glad that she was addressing my concerns! I was nodding my head so hard when Topher suggested they put her original personality back and she told him she doesn't want to die. That's it exaaaaaaaactly. I was also surprised that they addressed "why did you make me hate you?" so soon and so directly, but goddamn that was a great scene and i don't know if it means Topher/Saunders will NEVER EVER EVER happen, or if their weird hate relationship means that it is DEFINITELY going to happen. ??!??!?!?!??!? EITHER WAY it fully manifested my season one shippy inklings and i'm totally into it. D:
Also, Amy Acker is good at acting! (side note: WHYYYY is she still a guest star?? Shouldn't she be a regular? WTF?) It's so weird because i really disliked Fred for the majority of her time on Angel, but then Illyria was fucking amazing and pretty much MY FAVORITE. And i liked her on Alias, and now this. Fred might have been her weakest role. Who would have thought!
Hey magical scar-removing plastic surgery! Congratulations, Victor! The tiny amount of Victor/Sierra at the end was cute.
I like Adelle's haircut! Olivia Williams is so pretty. :] (haha i would totes crossover this show with Bored to Death [Jason Schwartzman detectives his way into discovering a Dollhouse!] for a Rushmore reunion. LOLZ)
Echo's storyline: the most tedious part of the episode. I DID NOT EVEN GIVE A CRAP ABOUT JAMIE BAMBER BEING THERE. Even a Lee and Helo confrontation could not make it worthwhile. Additionally: a) ew gross Paul is in love with Echo, and b) i miss Boyd as her handler, they had such a nice relationship. :( I HATE PAUL.
Oh no, i take it back, there was one part of Echo's storyline that i liked: flashback to Whiskey/Echo almost-kissing. :] And I GUESS i liked the fact that she's finally conscious of being a doll. BUT OTHER THAN THAT.
UGH, TOPHER/SAUNDERS YOU GUYS. I LIKE IT. A LOT. WHY.
(please note that i also have no idea what to call Dr. Claire Saunders/Whiskey. Claire is too informal, everybody calls her Dr. Saunders! And Whiskey isn't right because she's not an Active anymore! IDK IDK IDK, CLAIRISKEYDERS [.......YOSAFFBRIDGE])
I also just watched Epitaph One, which was surprisingly, incredibly awesome for an episode of Dollhouse (probably because it was nothing like an episode of Dollhouse!). The fact that they eventually bring about the apocalypse is A BILLION TIMES MORE INTERESTING than Echo on a boring fucking engagement. It was great, it was thought-provoking, it may have single-handedly gotten me interested in this show. I even got emotional and junk! WHISKEY. ;____________; (without scars but still being Dr. Saunders! what!) And man, sucks to be Topher. The bad thing though is that the episode negated my current shippiness in that obviously Claire/Boyd is an endgame, and i always see shades of Topher/Adelle too. But oh man VICTOR/SIERRA. As exes?!?!??!? Noooooooooooooooooo. They love each other. ;__;
IT WOULD SEEM THAT DESPITE DISLIKING THIS SHOW I KIND OF STARTED ACCIDENTALLY CARING ABOUT SOME THINGS
Parks & Recreation
I have discovered something incredibly disheartening: apparently a lot of the internet hates this show. D: WHY??!?!? There are also constant critical comments that "maybe it will finally find its footing!" and i'm like, dude, i thought it found its footing in like the second or third episode ever. ??? I love it so much! WHAT IS THE DEAL. Ugggggghhhhhhh i hate having my buzz harshed so severely. LESLIE KNOPE LOVES CANDY NECKLACES, COME ONNNNNNNNNNN WHY WOULD YOU HATE THAT. THAT IS LIKE OUTRIGHT HATING JOY.
Stupid internet.
In any case. Surprisingly i actually find Ann and Mark cute together, which is nice because previously Ann kind of brought out Mark's douchier womanizing qualities AND she disliked him. So yay. And THEN! Louis C.K. as the cop! Who liked Leslie! AWWWWW. Awkward cop-speak. AWWWWW.
Mad Men
THINGS I NEVER NEEDED TO SEE: PEGGY SLEEPING WITH DUCK. AUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH MY EYYYYYYYYYES. If i hadn't already started shipping her with Pete, good lord i would have after that. Pete is a beautiful perfect dreamboat in comparison. (and p.s. i was totally shipping Pete and Peggy in their scene together. even when having a normal conversation they both slip in little barbs at each other and IT'S GREAT. annnnnnnd i was fiercely wishing for the dude she was in bed with to be Pete. There was a time when the prospect of that would have made me recoil in disgust! NO MORE. LO, WE HAVE NOW WITNESSED PEGGY/DUCK, AND HENCEFORTH NO RELATIONSHIP PROSPECT SHALL EVER BE MORE HORRIFYING.) (p.p.s. regarding last week's foot mowing, at the time i didn't notice Pete catching fainting Peggy at all because i was a little distracted by FOOT MOWING, but then the internet showed it to me and i rewatched gifs of it forever. ADORB. oh god what has happened to me)
Don was being a major dick whitman this episode, MAN that was unpleasant. Of course he was being assaulted on all sides by people taking away his power, so it's an understandable reason to get pissed, but yeesh. There was too much severe unpleasantness all around, and after a real life bad day it just made me feel... you know, bad. TOO CLOSE TO HOME, MAD MEN. TOO CLOSE.
