March goal progress report - health and fitness

I thought I'd break my updates up into sections to evaluate how I've been doing on my New Year Resolutions.

Goal 1: Go to the gym an average of 4x/week
Reward: A trip to Postino's wine bar for eight weeks of compliance
Well, I've been averaging about 3 to 4 times per week, but that average has been boosted this week by my Lenten challenge of exercising for 20 minutes each day. I took the Postino's reward at six weeks even though I didn't deserve it because some co-workers were going. Cheating? Yes. Delicious? Also yes.

Goal 2: Track food every day
Reward: massage for six weeks of tracking
I was doing so well on this one! My trip to Indy broke my enthusiasm, and I've been periodically lazy on this particular goal. However, I did get that massage for tracking the first six weeks.

Goal 3: Take at least 5 yoga classes during the year
I've done nothing on this one. Not even looking up Yelp reviews for nearby studios. Anyone want to take classes with me?

Goal 4: Run a 10k race
BIG FAT FAIL. I've been avoiding running - my foot has been annoying me with all of the hours I've been working, and my workout gumption has been directed at other things. I might be able to hit a goal of late April for a 10K race, but I need to log some miles ASAP.

Goal 5: Finish a 5K in under 32 minutes
Reward: new workout clothes
Ha! See Goal #4. Too bad - I could really use some new workout clothes.

Goal 6: Complete New Rules of Lifting workout regimen (by end of March)
Reward: new book
I was totally unprepared for how difficult the last stage is of this program. I failed to complete the first workout twice before swallowing my pride and doing a modified plan. I have five more workouts to go - maybe I'll be done by end of April?

Goal 7: Reach goal weight of 120-125 or goal dress size 4 (1 lb/month)
I've lost 2.6 pounds as of March 1. Feh. It all comes down to my nutrition - the weight's not coming off until I stop gorging myself on free bread pudding and brie from our catered events at work.

Goal 8: Floss and moisturize at least once a week (Sundays)
Reward: new shoes for twelve weeks of compliance
I've been great on this one save for one week. I'm very glad to have finally incorporated flossing into a regular routine. Looking forward to new shoes, too!
